Retirals after 70 years service

After a combined service of 70 years Sadie Munro and Anne Reid have retired from Veitchi Head office in Rutherglen.  Sadie (44 years) and Anne (26 years) have been outstanding servants to the Group and are pictured here with the Head Office Administration team.

Sadie joined Veitchi in 1966, the year England won the world cup, yes that long ago, and Anne in 1984 the year of the miners’ strike. A celebratory lunch and presentation was held and the girls go with our sincere thanks for the massive efforts they have put in over the years.

We wish them both a long and happy retirement.

The works in Jubail on the Persian Gulf Coast involved laying our unique Veitchiguard Conductive Flooring product. Through careful planning the materials were manufactured and shipped several months prior to our skilled operatives flying out to complete the installation within the clients’ BAE Systems timescale.

Manufactured at Veitchi’s Glasgow HQ the Veitchiguard product has been used extensively by the Ministry of Defence and within the explosives industry for many years. The product leaves a level, durable, and most-importantly uniform conductive finish.

David Hepburn of Veitchi Industrial Flooring commented “The unique properties and safety of Veitchiguard mean it is the first choice flooring within the explosives industry. Our skilled operatives are far travelled, having completed installations in Cyprus, Gibraltar, The Falkland Islands and throughout the UK in recent years.”
